How to give my hair the 'messy' effect?

I have short, layered, slightly choppy, originally wavy hair.

After i shower, i towel dry my hair and it gets messed up perfectly, the way i want it during the day! But this doesn't last long, sooner or later it goes flat and looses vibe.

Is there any way i can keep my hair messy? And i mean good messy, not 'hey-- you wasted?' messy.

How to give my hair the 'messy' effect?

for the messy look, towel dry your hair untill no more moistureis excaping, then use a Wax based procuct lightely all over, using your fingers to piece it and texturize. i use Paul Mitchell Dry Wax, but there are alot of other brands available to fit your individual needs.

also, wax never dries, so if your hair goes limp durng the day, run your hands through it to liven it up again! takes only seconds!

well there is this new gel out that is called.. L.A. Looks "wet looks".. and it works wonders on my husband.. and he has that rough hair that doesn't ever want to do what you want kind of hair.. So try that maybe it will work for you..
