I have layered chin length hair. It's the kind of hair cut that you NEED to blowdry/style. It's not the wash and go type. I'm supposed to use a round brush for styling.
Okay, so, I have a few questions. 'Cause I have no idea how to style it myself.
After it's washed, I put a bit of mousse in it and don't start styling/blowdrying it until it's about 80% dry. Now, here's my problem.. and it's might sound ridiculous to, say, a hairstylist. When styling my hair.. my stylist usually starts with the back. Well, that part is hard for me...to see what I'm actually doing back there. And, my biggy is which direction do I blowdry the hair. I mean, I know I blow dry down (Duh! haha), but, ugh, it's hard to explain. The top, the sides, the back.. in which direction do I blowdry it/style it. Does that make any sense. Sometimes when I'm done, the shape is not all that appealing. I either look like a mushroom head (the shape) or it's too flat..
Help!!!!
Hair problem..Need help!? (stylists???)?
my hair is just like yours-try holding your brush in your ood hand e.g.right and hold the hair dryer in the other. i section my hair into tiny little bits and blow dry it bit by bit.put the brush at the roots of your hair and as you are pulling it down the hair shaft put the hairdryer abover the brush-i.e. put the hair brush underneath the section of hair and as you are pulling down use the hairdyer on the outside of the hair. finish with styling irons

Well I'm not a stylist, but I blow dry my hair everyday. First of all, start blow drying it a lot sooner than when it's 80% dry. By then, your hair probably has started to go back to its natural state. Ok, now the big thing for me is I blow dry it entirely upside down. You can sit in a chair or something, hold the blow dryer in your right hand, and the brush in your left, and dry it from left to right, with the blow-dryer facing out, away from your face. All the while your head is flipped upside down. This seems to give the exact right amount of volume. Hope this helps! You really should try it!!

instead of using a round brush use a flat one so you dont look like a mushroom head. my stylist told me to towel dry my hair than put some moose in it, after that flip my hair upside-down and just blow dry it with a flat brush (flip your hair upside-down by standing up and bending over so the top of your head is pointing to the ground) i dont know if this will work for your hair so try it when you have some free time. you will never know if you dont try. xoxoxo
