Ladies, do you cut/trim your own hair?

If so, how do you do it?

I've tried a couple of times to make side-swept bangs, but nothing major like layers on my hair (i have no idea how to do it).

I have thick, long black straight hair (Asian) ^_^

Hey I'm Asian too heheh yay! but yes i cut my own hair and no one knows that i do!! I cut my own bangs as well. I don't let no one touch my hair but me. To cut the bangs, I cut it to a length slightly longer than how long i want it to be. Then i hold the scissors vertically and at the ends ( about an inch from the ends) snip random pieces of hair. It thins the bangs out a little so it isn't too thick. It makes a cute swept bang. Try it a little and see if you like it. i know i love mine!!! Good luck with that!!!!

I don't think you should try it just go to a cheap place like cost cutters or great clips and give them their money to give you a little snip snip because with your kind of hair a little mistake will definatley stand out since its so straight and has no place to hide, if you had curly or thick hair you could probably do it yourself but unless you have some skills with the scissors i wouldn't put it anywhere near you head especially for layers because that requires a lot of technique

So here's my advice get you hair cut, and as it grows out keep triming it to where it was, voila! it avoids having to do any major cutting and,.. you can always switch up the style!

i cut my own hair how i do it is put my hair in braids and then evenly cut it and then i ask my stepmom if it needs to fixed no one ever knows that i do it.
