Ladies..hair advice please?

i have medium to dark brown hair and thinking of coloring it to lighten up my face a little bit. i'm asian,has fair complexion, heart shaped face and light brown eyes. my hair is long and somewhat layered. i don't want my hair to go brittle and dry that's why i'm looking for a dye that won't destroy it in the process. what brand do you recommend and what color do you think will suit me? i don't like those that has a tinge of red in it though.

i too have dark brown hair. i dont' dye my hair but have natural highlites. they are light a dark red, there are copper tones in there, and lighter browns.

Whatever you do don't go with bleach of any sorts... nothing worse than seeing people of foreign countries with gorgeous brn/black shiny hair having red, orange, yellow, or brassy colors in their hair... It is very cheap looking...

I would go to a pro and have them use some of the new shades that are out there that will give you a light creamy brownish without red. IT will look like it is sunkissed in a good way.. Go with the color in your eyes.... and you will be safe....

I think u should get some honey highlights to start off with. It will lighten up ur face and wont be too drastic and then after that there is always room to go lighter.if you want. You should try wella hair color their bleach works super fast so it doesnt stay on ur hair as long as others causing a lot less damage. I have very curly long hair and it gets damaged fast. So far ive used this color twice and my hair feels very soft and from the texture of my hair u would be able to tell it was dyed.

I would suggest getting your hair professionally done. If you do it yourself, it may turn out red or dry. I have medium brown hair but highlight it a lot. I get my hair professionally done, it looks good and I like it. I'm sure if you tell the hair dresser exactly what you want, they can make it look good. They go to school and most of them know what they are doing.
