I want to put highlights in my hair..... do they work in short hair? (like very short layers)?

I have very short dark brown hair, and I want to put highlights in it, would it look good if I was to put some in?

I just want to know if it would work in very short hair??

yes most definatly!! i have short hair and what i did was put about 2 colors lighter than mine as highlights also something that looks WAY cool with layers like yours is if you do underlights.. you put the lights under your hair.. i did tht with red and it looked really good.. also if you were interested in doing that you could do natural colors undernieth it to..but i would recamend doing a color that was darker than your now.. lighter might look a little strange.

you could go with subtle highlights to get an idea if you'll like your hair another color. short layers are not a problem.

It can work. I would advise using a professional since your hair

is short. It is hard to get down close to the roots and you don't

want it looking like it is already growing out. Also, with your hair dark, you might now want to go too light. Maybe a caramel color would be good.
