I have a few questions about my hair???

what is the difference between highlights and lowlights?

I have dark brown hair, i have long layers and i want to get them recut. i also want to get dirty blonde highlights or lowlights. I dont want a very big change. i want them to just kind of show up. I dont want it to look like i havve blonde hair so what should i do??? thanks for all the help.

Highlights are lighter than your base haircolor, lowlights are darker. Since your hair is brown, you want dirty blonde highlights. However, I would suggest getting caramel or honey highlights instead of dirty blonde. Eventually, these will fade and become a dirty blonde color, but starting out, you don't want to go too drastic.

Highlighting is a process done by foiling, or frosting cap where certain strands of hair are lightened. Low lights is done by the same process and that is where certain strands of hair are darkened.
